Journey to Tlingit engraving

I am getting my toes wet with traditional engraving technique. This art form requires lots of attention and focus you don’t want many slip ups. The tools are very sharp meant to cut metal easily and are usually pointed right at my soft fleshy hand. It did not take long for the ancestors to take up this art form when there were new materials introduced. During my lessons with Jenny I often hear the names of the greats she learned with. They live on this way and am working up to doing my first bracelet that was a David Katzeek design.
