Wow, so this was quite the project and jump in skill level. Went from a Tin’aa to doing a humanoid like face. I have so much respect for anyone who does this line of work. You have to put countless hours over days, weeks or months depending on the project. Below will be a select amount of pictures that slowly sum up and describe the process over the last month and a half. Hope you enjoy the process.

Hammered out the middle, ready to scribe my design in again.

Pendant in the pitch with design scribed in.

First you heat the pitch to get it off slightly before putting it in a type of alcohol to dissolve it off. Does not smell good. Best way to describe it is like tar. Every time you finish one side you have to do the process to see the other side showing what you need to do next.

Fill it up with pitch so when you hammer it moves correctly.

Time to draw the design on again. When you hammer it over and over again the deign fades away.

Got my face drawn on. Making the face curve in all the right places.

Eyes and moth coming into definition.

Defingin the nose, mouth, cheeks and forehead.

Curving the dimples and flatting the nose.

Now that the chasing and reprouse is done it is time to draw on the eyes and eyebrows. Set it in engravers wax then engrave. Engraving on curved surfaces on metal that has been pounded on many times over is quite challenging.

Time to engrave the eye

Heat off the remaining wax

Dissolve wax before polishing.

All polished up

Hello my friend
That concludes my humanoid face. Thanks for following my journey. Looking forward to sharing the next project with you in October.
