My life is currently in flux. Too many things, all at once. Moving, packing, getting our house ready to sell (and yes, it is taking us a while. I never knew one had to grieve a place, but it was our first real home as a married couple. Not a rental our home. It has been difficult to let it go.) Eddie, my husband in Juneau and me living with my mom and sister in Haines so I can be a part of the apprenticeship. Sacrifices. Life is very messy right now.
Gwen and I have talked about how much we like doing Chilkat Braids. There is just something about them. What I tend to like the most about them is that they tie everything together, and they hide some of the not so pretty parts of the weaving.
The braids have a way of bringing everything together and making it a cohesive weaving. I like the over, under, pull taught, as you move your wefts over, around and down your weaving. I kind of wish I had a Chilkat Braid right now for my life. Work, weaving, sleeping, repeat.
