Learning through Zoom video calls Deborah was very thorough in teaching every step to make this hat.

I finished the hat. If you look at it you can see the beginning it looks tight, and uncertain. As I continued I got in the groove and my weave became relaxed and repetitious.
I enjoyed Mentor Deborah, she’s a great teacher. This Apprenticeship was enjoyable and next level of weaving. Some parts, wasn’t easy. Every step requires many things to pay attention to; tension, consistency, is the warp strong or weak, adding it more warps or weavers, and so on.
I got to go to Craig 2x during this Apprenticeship. I learned to pull Cedar from the tree. I learned how to strip the Cedar thru the Stripper. Deborah taught me the Tlingit weave which I used on my Cedar Hat.

My hat I have decided to keep because it’s a great reminder of my learning process. I have my hat on display at C.I.A. office.

I’ve added photos to show process from beginning to end.
