Ok,Let’s make a belt buckle.
I had some extra silver from the pendant I cut out in 18 gauge that I normally use for bracelets. Thought yeah I can do another pendant. Or I can turn this big piece of precious metal into a belt buckle. Yeah, let’s do it. I have never made a belt buckle before so why not. Time to get to work. I engrave this piece and make a beautiful border to highlight all the right spots. It has to flow.
Engraving done. Border looking good. Crosshatching and single hatching has a pile of silver chips at my feet. I like it.
Show up to Greg and say, hey I got piece of halibut piece I engraved and crowned out that I think will make a great belt buckle. Greg caught a little off guard but rolls with it. Yeah looks good, let’s make it into a buckle. So he proceeds to show me by pulling out some big gauge silver wire. Makes a couple cuts and bends. Do some filing. Then cut and file the part that goes into the belt.
Solder on the buckle and the cuts we made in the wire to bend it.
Now for the part that goes into the belt( sorry don’t know the name of that part:).
After this I just need to file & polish.
All cleaned up. First belt buckle in the books.
